The 3rd AI Art Collab Tournament is well underway. Of the original 60, just 29 artists remain, representing 11 continent-spanning teams. Today, we cut that number in half with another vote from the theme of “Dreams, Dreamscapes”.

What’s new in AI?

Last week, we saw Midjourney 5.1 & a new ChatGPT-powered mind-reading device. This week, text-to-3D and FastFoodLLM.

• Fabulous article about the evolution of creativity along with our tools: is the disruption of AI art new, or does it just feel new? (sent in by @barbara.chira.ai.art)

• OpenAI released Shap-E, a text-to-3D asset tool. Not broadly useful in its current state as a Github file, but a big and interesting step for anyone in VFX & animation. Someday soon, text-to-movie

• Wendy’s New Drive-thru Employee is an AI-chatbot (sent in by @f1uxu.s)

• AI art copyright inches forward in the US as the Copyright Office eases its stance on AI-generated works (sent in by @barbara.chira.ai.art)

• AI-adjacent: after a lengthy 4-year hiatus, Black Mirror Season 6 is back. Very hype.

Prompt tip: Richly colored skies

Another winning suggestion from @obscure.ai - try adding “richly colored skies” to your prompt for some high chroma scapes.
