• Krea’s real-time image generator (attached to a canvas design tool) just entered open beta and it’s free! (how it’s used)

• Leonardo releases Live Canvas, real-time drawing-to-image whiteboard

• Stability AI releases Stable Zero123, text-to-3D asset

• Midjourney just released “Alpha”, which means you can now generate images through their website HERE, but only if you’ve already generated 10k+ images.

• Try out Google’s experimental “MUSICFX” - an easy way to generate music clips based on text (it’s so good)

• Check out this tweet showing off a cool AI-powered image enhancer, Magnific AI

Not art, still noteworthy

• Tesla’s “Optimus Gen 2” demo unveiled - The Robots Are Coming

• More robotics: researchers at the University of Tokyo show off Alter3, a robot plugged into GPT-4. They’re calling it Text-to-Motion

• Sports Illustrated CEO is fired for AI-generating avatars for non-existing editors

• Greg Technology shows that you can already do what the Google Gemini release video slightly faked, in real-time with OpenAI’s GPT-4V (video)

• People are starting to use AI to talk to the dead (article on StoryFile and Hereafter AI)

• AI researchers used living brain cells clumped together (brain organoids) to recognize speech. Early stage research on bio-based computation that, if successful, could be significantly more energy efficient than silicon-based computation

• Israel is relying on AI systems in attacks on Gaza

• Controversial AI image platform Civitai is dropped by its cloud computing provider after reports of possible CSAM (child sexual abuse material)

New Release: 1.16 🎉

Last week, we released a fully new navigation system and simplified design of our key screens.

Today: home screen widgets. Use these to: search through artists who are on Instagram, X, Threads, and Discord + welcome new folks to the app (with a wave!) + see community activity + browse resources + browse our newsletters and more. You can add and remove home screen widgets at will, and we’ll add many more of these over time.
